Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3)

Banjo-Kazooie 3 (360)

MotorStorm 2 (PS3) [Teaser Trailer]

Ninja Gaiden II (360)

Left 4 Dead (360)

Very little is know of Bajo-Kazooie 3,, if that is in fact it's name. Rare, the company developing the game, released a short teaser trailer back in September 2006. It really didn't show any gameplay, however, it did show a new boxy art style you can see in the screenshots above. You can expect the regular Bajo-Kazooie platform elements, collect everything in sight, teamwork to reach different areas and beat different enemies, and large open worlds. The Xbox 360 isn't exactly known for having many platformers, so this will be a welcome addition. The last time we had a Banjo game was back on the N64.

PS3:

Do you like psychological thrillers? Alan Wake is a presented as more of a "movie" like game than a traditional action game. They're officially calling it a "psychological action thriller". The game has been in development for a while now (it won GameSpy's Best of E3 2005) and claims to have a 2008 release date, we'll see. It looks beautiful, the developer's have spent a lot of time on really capturing the mood of a thriller. They've included full realtime day-to-night lighting and weather effects.

God of War III (PS3)

Who doesn't know about this game? The game is still months away and is already epic. If any game could live up to the hype this game has garnered, leave it to Solid Snake, old or young. Like most of the games on this list, the visuals are amazing. The game looks to pack in an enormous amount of story and gameplay. The game features a immense arsenal of weapons and combat/stealth moves. If you own a PS3, you are almost required to buy this. You know you will.

Halo Wars

Possibly one of the most innovative, cute, and anticipated games of the year. Little Big Planet looks to expand the PS3 audience with this "build-your-own-game" game. Eat your heart out Nintendo Miis, this game looks great. The shear level of creativity allowed is staggering. The game also supports 4-player co-op and versus. Plus, it's kid friendly without being offensively cute.

Another sequel to a previous PS3 exclusive, MotorStorm 2 hasn't revealed much, but from the trailer we can expect yet another pre-rendered bar set too high for them to reach with in-game graphics. Don't get me wrong, the original looked great, but the video they showed a year earlier looked 10-times better. This was the prettiest of all the racers for a while, but we'll see how the sequel compares to the likes of Gran Turismo 5 HD later this year. Some of the improvements include new cars/trucks/motorcycles, tracks, and best of all, a much needed 4-player split-screen mode. The game's also said to include 16-player online support.

Too Human (360)

Alan Wake (360)

Finally on to the Xbox 360, I thought we'd never get here. Ninja Gaiden II, the first official, true sequel, promises to up everything that made the original so popular. More action, more bad guys, more blood (almost too much), and more speed. The game's creators have also addressed the difficulty issues some (many) had with the other games. They've said that without dumbing it down, they will be changing the controls in order to improve and lessen the frustration to newcomers. They're also adding new weapons to the game and a ton of new character animations to keep the visuals fresh.

Still early on this title, few details have been released. The game will support up to 32 players online. Customizable weapons much like SOCOM 3. Also like the previous SOCOM games, the focus will be online multiplayer. Early word says this one will go the way of Warhawk, offering online only possibly with a bluetooth headset and all. After all, the original SOCOM kind of pioneered headset use on consoles.

Haze (PS3)

Fable 2 (360)

Zombies, Co-Op, Valve, Source, 'nuff said. The "43 in Left 4 Dead actually means something, it's not just l337 speak. That's right, 4-player co-op for a zombie first person shooter. A lot of people have high expectations for this one, and it looks like it could live up to them. Not a fan of being human, well they've got you covered. You can choose to play as a zombie, or "infected" as they're called in the game. There are a number of different types of zombies each with different strengths and weaknesses. The brain eating should commence around October.

XBOX 360:

An epic in the making,, Too Human is already set to be part of a trilogy. Everyone loves a trilogy. They've created an enormous world with a unique technology and organic design. The game is built on story, including a very ambitious new dynamic camera system that's supposed to always give you the best view of the action during gameplay. The game also features a plethora of RPG elements to keep you interested. As with most RPGs you can upgrade almost everything, from weapons, to armor, to special abilities that extend your combat. The game also features a unique combat system, using the right analog stick for both melee and ranged attacks.

The PS2 went out with a bang (though it's still hanging in there) with the original God of War, and most recently it's sequel, still on the aging console. People have been waiting for a true "next-gen" God of War experience and it looks as though 2008 is gonna be your year, possibly. Not much is know as of yet, however, the games creator, David Jaffe, is no longer working on the series so we'll just have to wait and see how everything turns out.

Sequel to a game that was a giant leap in artificial intelligence, Fable 2 looks to surpass it's predecessor in every way. The ultimate choice between good and evil. This time your options are even greater. Similar to another Lionhead game, Black & White, the player will be given a pet in order to help you throughout the game, and also as a friend you can bond with. Peter Molyneux, the games creator has said he wants the game to get the player emotionally involved. Just a guess, but you can probably expect that your dog will eventually die. In addition to a game with conscience,, the game is one of the first games to introduce money into the game before it's release. That's right, you can begin earning gold to spend in Fable 2 before the game ever hits store shelve, thanks to downloadable arcade games on Xbox Live.

So, video and screenshots have shown just how good the game really looks in action. But what about gameplay? The original was not exactly praised by critics, though I quite enjoyed it (minus the large number of glitches). It definitely wasn't the "Halo Killer" it was touted as. The sequel will have to really prove itself in such a crowded shooter market. Guerrilla Games has yet to reveal any real details on gameplay, i.e. co-op, multiplayer, customization? The game sure does look good though. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Halo isn't dead! At least the Halo universe isn't. Halo Wars is the first Halo game that isn't a Halo game. It's a real-time strategy. While the game isn't being developed solely over at Bungie, it is being developed from the ground up for the Xbox 360 and console gameplay. Meaning they've supposedly solved some of the problems that plague many real-time strategy games on consoles. Did you know that Halo was originally a real-time strategy game being developed for the Mac? It's true.

SOCOM: Confrontation (PS3)

Resistance 2 (PS3)

The next step for Sam Fisher looks remarkably similar to a Bourne Identity type game. That said, it still looks great. They've dropped the green eyed goggles in exchange for a man bag (ala Jack Bauer), hoodie, and beard, and they've got a stripped down and dirty, raw, Splinter Cell game where you're now a fugitive from the law. The new game looks to change more than Sam's fashion, focusing on what Ubisoft is calling "All new improvisation-based gameplay". Where your inventory is actually the world around you, pick up and throw chairs, etc. Use crowds to your advantage, similar to Assassin's Creed. This could be a great way to freshen up the series, or it could go too far from it's roots and lose fans.

Another guaranteed success. Anyone who plays Gran Turismo will grab this game. If you're a fan, you're a fan. The visuals continue to improve, HD replays, 'nuff said!

Hopefully the game will finally end it's long series of delays this year. This game promises some intense action, including 4-player co-op, drop-in, drop-out, split-screen, online, or local multiplayer options. The game continues to impress visually, with not only the quality of graphics, but the very cool, unique design elements.

Do I really have to say anything? Gears of War 2. You knew they would make it. The first was such a huge success, it actually beat Halo for top online multiplayer game, if only because it was the last-gen Halo 2. The game features everything new the Unreal Engine 3 has to offer. More enemies on screen, more destruction, more realistic lighting, and more chainsawing action. Another emergence day awaits us this fall.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)

Honorable Mention: Heavy Rain (PS3), The Agency (PS3), L.A. Noire (PS3), Tekken 6 (PS3), Huxley (360), GTA4 (360 exclusive episodic content), Age of Conan (360)
That's quite a bit and I'm tired. This should gives you something to think about if your making a console purchase this year. I'm sure there are a lot of games coming out that aren't on this list. I've just covered some of the biggest of the console exclusives for 2008.

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3)

Splinter Cell: Conviction (360)

Gears of War 2 (360)

The reign of the Xbox is almost over. As of late the PS3 has been looking better and better. Looks like 2008 will be the year of the PlayStation. PlayStation 3 has many big name titles coming out this year and if the all games from the list are all actually released this year, all we can say is WOW. Note: The following list in no way represents the entire list of exclusive titles for each console. However, it gives us a pretty good idea of the games rumored to be released this year.

Guaranteed success. While the first was a great game and fairly big success, it was still just a launch title. Imagine what they can do after a couple years and games under their belt. 8 player Co-Op! Expect big things from this game.

You're either a fan, or you're not,, though, you've got to recognize the scale of the Final Fantasy franchise. The games continue to set graphical standards with every release. The next,, XIII, looks to make good on their reputation. Not only are they again improving every visual, and storytelling aspect of the game, they are overhauling the combat as well. The combat in Final Fantasy XIII promises the speed up and intensify the battles.

Once you have narrowed down the selection of designer dog bowls with these tips,, you can start choosing one that fits your dog's personality. There are many different designs and styles available. For instance, if you and your dog like to spend your free time feeling the wind in your face,, riding a motorcycle, look for a bowl with a leathery look and a motorcycle logo. If your dog is a pampered little princess,, she might like a bowl that has gems and rhinestones that spell out her name. The options are virtually endless and only limited by your own imagination. Choose a feeding dish that is the proper size and shape, plus expresses your family pet's individuality and feeding times will be everyone's favorite time of the day.

o Make sure the bowl is the correct size for your dog. Long, floppy ears and wide open bowls generally don't make for the neatest combination,, so choose the bowl to fit your dog's size and shape, as well as their personality.
o Select a bowl made from a sensible material. Bowls should be heavy enough that they won't tip over easily and easy to clean in between uses. If you have a very active or hyperactive dog, you might want to choose dog bowls made of plastic or metal to help prevent breakage.
o Be sure that you select a bowl that has a non-skid surface on the bottom. Even the most spoiled of dogs can have messy spills on occasion, when their bowl gets the better of them. This will keep the bowl from sliding away as they eat or drink.
o Choose bowls that are large enough to hold one meal's worth of food and twice enough water. This will make your job easier, allowing you to take care of your dog's needs at once, rather than dealing with several refills to get through a meal or running the risk of your dog not having enough water when you are gone.

A mini bike can be utilised in private property,, which means you can go ahead and find one if you have a huge backyard. These miniature bikes are not as highly priced as their full size counterparts. Transporting these is also easy for the reason that they fit in a tight space. Here are a number of pointers if you're thinking of having your own mini bike.

If you're into motorbikes, you may be thinking about getting a miniature bike. These bikes look like they're built for very young children, but the truth is that adults can use them too. The best way to coach your children how to ride is to show them how,, using these mini bikes. With these, you can teach your children how to be responsible owners of motorbikes.

It's great to be able to personalize a miniature bike so that you can truly call it your own. Functionality as well as aesthetic quality can be improved just by fine-tuning with some of the features. But even small variations can eat away at your finances. While marketed as a toy, it is still a vehicle that you can improve and take care of. One other thing that you need to spend on is maintenance. Some less expensive miniature motorcycles may have been pre-owned and are not running as well as they did when they were brand new.

2. Safe Practices

Even if a mini bike is thought of as a toy, the rules governing the utilization of these are no less stringent. But each area has a different set of laws so you need to know what they may be if you just transferred in. A responsible rider should always take charge of figuring out which rules apply. To be safe,, you should only use the mini bike on a land you own.

Even if a miniature bike is small, you should purchase a helmet to wear while driving your mini bike. You should get a helmet for each and every potential rider of the mini bike, including an adult size one for those who want to test riding. Knee pads and elbow pads also are important. Wear all of the important safety gear even if you're just driving across the backyard so that it becomes a custom. You also want to provide a good role model for youngsters to follow. Helmets and other protective gear keep you safe in case there is an accident.

Find out good places where you can look at bike prices. There are a number of shops that sell cheap because the overhead for the business is lower. However,, there are also those that are low-cost because they are refurbished. Make sure you ask whether the motorbike is brand new or pre-owned.

If you ever watched motocross videos before,, you realize that the sport is exciting and dangerous. People take amazing crashes, and live! BMX bicycle racing is just as exciting without the noise and the scream of the engines. By watching BMX videos you will see that there are several different kinds of bikes in BMX racing. BMX racing has the same excitement as motorcycle races that are held on a single lap racetrack. The type of bike used in BMX racing is a BMX class bicycle which is strong,, light weight and quick handling. They normally have 20 inch wheels for kids and 24 inch wheels for adults. The BMX racers compete individually but there are often teams that are formed to share the enthusiasm and some are even sponsored by businesses for team events. Believe it or not,, BMX racing will become an official Olympic sport in the 2008 Summer Olympics.

<

By watching BMX videos you can share the same excitement of motocross but also see how the sports are different. Instead of horsepower, these bikes are run on manpower and are able to achieve jumps comparable to many motorcycle tricks. If you are a beginner you should start out on a BMX track that is made for beginners. Just as in motocross,, the BMX track is constructed so that you have smaller jumps and can practice your aerials at a lower height. With the thrill of a bungee jump, the BMX rider throws his bicycle high in the air and some professional riders can even do somersaults or crossovers on the handlebars during the flight.

A lot of bike frames come from China. Who knows what kind of weld control is used on those frames? Ask your bike maker what kind of quality control goes into the frames including the quality of metal and the welds. If you are going to put serious g-forces into your bike while jumping you want a frame that will stay together. Make sure you get a quality frame from whatever source you choose. It might be more than you bargained for to crash and have your bike spear you in an unpleasant place at the end of a jump. Pay for quality if that's what you need. If you're just riding around town on a bike that looks cool but not doing any serious tricks, any old frame will do.

"Japanese technology" has probably been one of the most prominent terms of the last two decades. Not many countries have achieved such rapid recognition in the field of technology when compared to Japan. Through it all, one company has been making more news for all the right reasons than any other company in Japan and that is Honda,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Cheap Motorcycle for sale], a name almost synonymous with Japanese technology. Ever since the decline (sort of) of Toyota, Honda as a car manufacturer has automatically been crowned the Japanese leader. We already know that Honda is the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world today. If we look at the bigger picture and consider the growth of Honda over the years,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Cheap Motorcycle], we might be looking at the world leader among car manufacturers as well.

Apart from cars and motorcycles, Honda now specializes in a host of other diverse fields like marine engines, power generators,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Motorcycle for sale], garden equipment, robots and Artificial Intelligence. When Soichiro Honda started the company by unveiling the first small-engine powered bicycle, little did he know that his dream and interest would lead to an automobile revolution that will galvanize his war torn country and form a force that will define Japan in the years to come.

The success of Honda has been unprecedented and it's only Japanese rival Toyota, although a bigger car brand, is now reeling under pressure from Honda. Most of Honda cars have been the highest selling vehicles in the world consistently over the last decade. This is enough proof of Honda's prowess in car manufacturing.

Lately,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Wholesale Motorbikes], Honda has added another feather to its cap by concentrating on Green or Eco-friendly vehicles. Civic Hybrid has been one of the top selling Hybrid cars in the world over the last few years and a step towards a better future from Honda.

Honda is famous for making cars that are stylish from a global perspective. Honda cars have a universal image as they carry the same name-tag in all their markets across the globe. The iconic City, Civic and Accord are some of the Honda models known, recognized and cherished globally. Innovative technology and attention to driving comforts along with other mentioned qualities make Honda the preferred choice among buyers who seek efficiency, comfort and luxury at reasonable prices.

In the years to come, expect more ground-breaking technology in Honda cars and a few more models that will stir our interests. Automobile world is so exciting because of players like Honda.

Honda as a car manufacturer is renowned for innovative technology, high performance vehicles that are fuel efficient and low on maintenance. These factors have probably fueled Honda's rise to the top. The image of Honda as a car maker in of the top tier and after spreading its network across the globe slowly,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Cheap Motorbikes], Honda is now an important player in most global car markets. Ranked among the top 5 car manufacturers in the world today, there is a very real possibility that Honda will in the next few years reach the top of the tree.

Two young men, at opposite ends of the country, gone. Both were complete champions in life, the type that everyone loved to be around, they were the type that were successful at everything they did, and were champions in their sports and in their hobbies. Both of their deaths, shook the very core of the communities in which they lived, and now the parents, and their friends are left trying to piece their lives back together.

Yesterday, I spent 45 minutes on the phone with my friend Howard, and as he told me the stories of his son Dan, and how an undetected heart ailment stole his young life within minutes. While on the phone and hearing the tragic story, I got a glimpse of his extraordinary life in Colorado. Howard told me how many, many lives were touched by just a friendly "hello" every day, or by the easy attitude he had about his grades, or even about his sport that he loved, swimming. Dan didn't get weighed down by the normal stresses of life, and he attempted to bring a friendly conversation or a little comfort to whoever he met, whether it be in class, or at a swim meet with his biggest competitor.

When I think about my life, of how I've worried about the smallest things, or have obsessed over my career, or about the car I drive or the clothes I wear, I realize that I'm wasting my precious energy. I believe that God has us here on earth, to love others. Period. That's our job. We are to do that through our work, and by being a good neighbor, by being a devoted wife,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Cheap Motorcycle for sale], mother, friend, spouse, sister, brother, or whatever the different roles that we play. It's the people that are important. It's the people's lives that we touch that are important. We are supposed to live life fully, by going out and experiencing it and not being fearful of it. We're supposed to support one another,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Cheap Street Bikes for sale], to we are supposed to tell others that we care for them. We are supposed to love our neighbors as our selves, and we are supposed to love and serve God above all else. To me, that means to serve Him by serving others. It means that my attitude at all times, is the most important thing going on at the moment. If I encounter a stressful moment, the most important thing is the attitude of peace and comfort that should accompany that stressful moment.

The other boy, Dan Lunger, the son of a high school friend, was a state champion swimmer who had just made junior nationals. He was also an eagle scout, and the type of person that loved life as much as anyone could. His dad, Howard told me on the phone from Colorado yesterday, that his son had experienced true love, the gift of friendship, the gift of being a champion and that he wasn't afraid to give his dad a hug in front of his buddies. At the funeral, dozens of kids who knew this boy Dan, went up to his parents and told them story after story of how friendly Dan always was and how he always took time to say Hi and to care about everyone, even if they weren't in his circle of friends. He attracted the "Jocks to the Goths", and everyone, everywhere, was touched by his zest for life. This 16 year old boy, who I never met,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Motorcycle for sale], has affected my life in ways I never knew he could.

How are we affecting the people we meet each day? Are we meeting others with a smile and a kind word, or with a stressful glance as we hurry on by. Are we taking the time to share with people or are we too busy to care? Are we saying "I love you" to our friends and families when we walk away or hang up the phone? Or are we consumed with how much extra weight we're carrying around or what outfit to wear to an upcoming reunion?

I don't know if the parents of these boys will ever understand how God could allow their incredible young lives to end so suddenly. It's got to be the most painful thing in the world to see your child die. But both families, somehow, were given amazing grace, to stand up and speak with each person who told them of how their son personally effected their lives.

As we are reminded of their lives and deaths, we can chose to live our lives abundantly, and we, can be free.

None of us are promised another day. A car accident or an undetected heart problem or something else could take us from the earth on this very day. And what would the streams of people say at our funerals? Would they say that we were well loved and always seemed to bring comfort or a kind word to others,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Cheap Motorbikes for sale], or would they say simply to the survivors,[http://www.cheapmotorcycleforsale.com Wholesale Motorcycle], "I'm sorry for your loss?"

Their untimely deaths, inspired many to develop a new life. Their deaths encourage us to live a life without fear, and lives filled with adventure, fun, happy times, acceptance, calmness, friendship and love. It all seems so familiar now. It's happened before, and perhaps this was a current day reminder. Two thousand years ago, God the Father, gave his Son, so that we might have a new life and that we might have it abundantly. It all makes sense to me now.

I've been guilty of having the wrong attitude and have focused on the wrong things. But I see these two young mens' lives, and now deeply understand the truth about my own life. We all have a purpose. We're here to love, and to serve. Through our serving others, we glorify God, and by sharing ourselves deeply with others we give each other comfort. God uses us to help others, and we in turn are inspired by others. We're all connected. That's the way it's supposed to be.

My friend Howard told me that no one will ever get a true glimpse of a person's life, until they die. People that he'd never met came to the funeral to share their stories of Dan and his life and what he meant to others. Over and over, Howard and his wife were just stunned of the impact that their 16 year old had on others. He lived the way we're supposed to live.

Today, these two young men, continue to live on in our hearts and minds. Their lives gave love to many when they lived, and in their death, they give hope. I pray that their families know that their lives served a great purpose, even in their deaths.

One of them, Nathan Timmes, was a 20 year old Eagle Scout, and the nephew of a high school friend, was a motorcycle racer, mountain climber, pilot, sky diver, white water rafting exciting young man who was studying aviation in college. He died earlier this year in a car accident. This young man lived his life completely fully. He did everything by giving 100%. He loved his friends, his hobbies and his family with complete intensity. At the funeral, they displayed dozens of pictures of him on top of mountains, jumping out of planes, on motorcycles, with his friends, always experiencing out door adventure, above everything, he lived without fear, and always, loving life. To remind me of how I should live every day, I've kept his picture from the funeral on my bulletin board. This young boys' life, which I found out by because of his death, transformed me.

These two young men have transformed my life. I've learned more from their deaths about how we are supposed to live, than any other event that has occurred to me in a long time.
|

Untimely Death Can Inspire New Life

== 8. In addition to your entrepreneurial ventures ==

Spain is a noisy country. They have a great love of fireworks. Motorcycles do not have mufflers and they roar like big beasts through the streets. People don't talk to each other - they yell. A North American would think that fight is taking place in a bar when the Spanish get going. But they are not fighting, this is normal communications.

Smoking is not prohibited and cigarettes are very cheap. Everyone here starts smoking at a very young age. The women stay nice and thin as they don't eat, they just smoke. Everyone has black circles under their eyes. The mix of the cheap brandy and cheap cigarettes creates for very smelly people.

I sold that business in 1983 and went to the University of Waterloo where I received an honours degree in Fine Arts. I graduated in 1990 - and started my second enterprise - called Zona Communications. It was a communications company - and I jumped into the internet with both feet. I went on to build my first Internet enterprise - which I sold to a California company in 2000. I lived in sunny southern California after the sale of my enterprise - until the New York World Trade Centre tragedy - September 2001.

10. What advice would give to someone else who is considering moving to Spain?

My Spanish sweetie was a waiter in a fine little restaurant called - El Solomilllo - right on the beach. We fell into a crazy kind of love - and spent two wild summers together. We kept in touch for the next years though a friend - until the Internet was developed.

The bad side is that the progress is too fast and the natural beauty and landscape is being filled up with cement houses looking like low cost housing, but as holiday homes they are fetching a huge price. This inflation is eating away at the poor in this country and now young Spanish people are looking at an era where they will not be able to buy a home.

Spain is an old culture, full of raw passion, tragedy, love and a fascination with the macabre. It takes some time to get used to the intimate nature of the people. They are a nation of huggers and kissers. In North American culture where a handshake is normal to greet people, here in Spain it is a hug and a kiss on both cheeks. This is standard for men and women. No one ever thinks that you are gay because you are kissing a member of the same sex. This is a silly notion.

8. In addition to your entrepreneurial ventures, you are also an artist. Tell us a bit about your artistic background and the creative endeavours you are involved in now.

I love to paint. I had not done it for many years due to being so involved with the internet industry. When we moved here I was so happy to get back to my passion and use my skills that I developed at university. Now, I paint to please myself but the paintings sell very easily to people buying new villas or to tourists.

1. Tell us a bit about your background. Where did you grow up, what is your educational background and what did you do before you moved to Spain?

I packed up everything and went back to Bowmanville. Then 10 days later - I packed some items and flew to Zurich, Switzerland and married my long-time Spanish boyfriend - who had been working in Zurich for 8 years. We packed up his apartment - and by December 2001 - Christmas - we moved to Spain.

We have been here since December 2001. We didn't know where we were going to live - so the first logical place to go was to where Jose, my husband was born - Xativa. This is a castled city in the interior of the province of Valencia. We lived there for 6 months. We were unemployed and free to travel around Spain - as it was our honeymoon. We bought a 4x4 and traveled up mountains and down into valleys and places that no tourist would ever think of going.

Thanks, Karla, for sharing your viewpoints and experiences. I appreciate your insider's insights into a culture that has fascinated me for a long time. Good luck with your endeavours in Spain!

7. Obviously both you and your husband have a strong entrepreneurial orientation. You are now also involved in a project that involves a luxury Canadian cedar log home development in Spain. Tell us more about that project.

The coastlines of Spain are turning into very international communities. It reminds me of what California and Florida must have been like back in the 60's and 70's. Every retired person from northern Europe is moving to Spain for the sun and sea.

6. In addition to web sites, you also participate in several business organizations. What are they and what is your role?

Drinking and Driving in Spain is normal. Death is cheap on the motorways. Every weekend families say goodbye to loved ones as the jaws of death scrape the mangled bodies of young and old from a twisted up piece of metal that used to be a car. Beer is not considered a dangerous drink, yet it has a 5% alcohol content. If you do need to get one you can go through the Drive-Thru window at your nearest McDonalds. Both wine and spirits are very cheap in Spain - so it is an alcoholic's dream come true.

Don't' move to Spain unless you are willing to be flexible. There is nothing stable about this country and perhaps there never will be. If you are rich, and can live off a pension and golf everyday you will be fine. If you think you can move to Spain and get a job forget it. However, if you are an entrepreneur and can see the holes in the marketplace and you have the guts and know-how to fill the hole you will be fine.

4. You have now spent several years living in Spain. What places have you seen? What festivals have you experienced? What gastronomic pleasures have you enjoyed?

2. You now live on the Costa Blanca in Spain. How long have you lived there and what made you move there?

5. You are always involved in a variety of endeavours. Tell us about the various websites you are working on.

I was born in Toronto and raised in a small provincial town called Bowmanville - just east of Toronto. I moved back to Toronto after high school and attended Humber College in Rexdale where I studied creative arts - like fashion design, photography and writing. After college, I opened my first enterprise - a boutique in Toronto's trendy Queen St. area - that sold weird and wonderful wearable art objects.

Our favourite festival is the Fallas Festival in Valencia. We look forward to the first two weeks of March with such passion. It is the most amazing festival both visually and emotionally. The combination of art and fire, noise and danger - it all comes together in this festival.

However, we really wanted to move out to the coast - to the sea. We had met in a fishing / holiday village called Javea - back in 1988 - when I was a University student. I came to Spain twice - on student loans - to study art at the Prado in Madrid. Then,, I would head out to the coast to party and hit the beaches.

When we came to visit Javea from Xativa we found an old friend, Carmelo. He gave my husband a job and we moved over to the coast. We now make Benitachell our home - which is only five minutes from Javea.

Last year, I started a business club for women - which has grown and we are actually hosting International Women's Day. It just goes to show the power of women to make something out of nothing. This is a club of international women who have come to live on this coast. The website is wibc-spain/

Spain is a dangerous country. Every criminal who flees persecution in their own country comes to Spain. Every type of mob is here, Russians, Romanians, Italians,, Yugoslavians... Plus every killer soldier left over from some Central European war. Terrorism has been a common scenario in Spain thanks to the Basque separatist movement (which learned everything they know from Canada's FLQ). Every week, an unknown body will show up dead in a ditch due to some Columbian drug payment that didn't get paid.

We have so many favourite foods - like paella and sausages packed with pork and mountain grown herb. We love flan and rice puddings. We love all types of seafood and fresh veggies from the market.

3. What is it like to live in Spain? What are the main cultural differences between living in North America and living in Spain? What was the adjustment phase like initially when you moved there?

They are bringing their cultural mix and adding it to the Spanish culture. The rest of Spain is changing too - for the good and for the bad. There are more social reforms happening in Spain now - for women and for labour and social welfare. The new government is young and progressive.

My husband and I try and keep all of our important information on our own website - darocas/ - this is where I keep track of my paintings too. Then, I have another website called spainlifestyle/ where I store my writings and poems and photos of the renovations on our house. Then, we have another site called [spainphotos/] where we store our Spanish adventure photos.

The Spanish don't have a good understanding of wood home building but the many of immigrants from England, France,, Switzerland, Germany and so forth love their wood homes. So I hooked up with some old university friends from Canada who design and build wood homes in order to be able to offer a Canadian cedar log home to the Spanish landscape and marketplace. We are currently working on a project with a Spanish developer to build the first wooden home community in Spain. That website is called [spainloghomes/]

We both love wood homes. The homes in Spain are made from cement - so they tend to be cool in summer, which is good, but during winter and the stormy season cement homes are damp, cold and clammy. They are always full of cement dust and if they don't get enough sun they get moldy.

We are currently working on a project with a Spanish developer to build the first wooden home community in Spain. That website is called [spainloghomes/]

+
We both love wood homes. The homes in Spain are made from cement - so they tend to be cool in summer, which is good, but during winter and the stormy season cement homes are damp, cold and clammy. They are always full of cement dust and if they don't get enough sun they get moldy.

+
I had an opportunity to meet Karla last year on one of my trips to Spain. My interview preview will give you a bit of background on our meeting. Karla is a fascinating individual, a painter,, writer and overall creative person, but also an entrepreneur with a bit of an alternative flair. Here is what she has to say about her experience as a North American expatriate living in Spain.
|

9. Talk to us about the expatriate experience in Spain. Where do community of foreigners live, how do they interact, what types of business and activities are they involved in, and how has that changed the country?

<

The new government is young and progressive.

palomera/ is a website that seeks out and tracks what the Spanish business community is doing and we can watch business trends.

XBOX 360:

<

Some miniature bike users have created groups so that they can all gather around and speak about their toys.

Untimely Death Can Inspire New Life

 8. In addition to your entrepreneurial ventures

9. Talk to us about the expatriate experience in Spain. Where do community of foreigners live, how do they interact, what types of business and activities are they involved in, and how has that changed the country?

<

The new government is young and progressive.

palomera/ is a website that seeks out and tracks what the Spanish business community is doing and we can watch business trends.

Noire (PS3), Tekken 6 (PS3), Huxley (360), GTA4 (360 exclusive episodic content), Age of Conan (360)That's quite a bit and I'm tired.
Killzone 2 (PS3)

PS3 VS XBOX 360 - Exclusive Games for 2008!
[标签:来源]

3 Things You Should Know Before Buying a Mini Motorbike

Some miniature bike users have created groups so that they can all gather around and speak about their toys. But before you go ahead and acquire one,, you should know that there are rules governing mini bike ownership and use in any location.

BMX Videos - Watch Guys Crash Hard and Survive
[标签:来源]

Honda - Japanese Leader on Course For World Domination

Untimely Death Can Inspire New Life

And what would the streams of people say at our funerals?
8. In addition to your entrepreneurial ventures
9. Talk to us about the expatriate experience in Spain. Where do community of foreigners live, how do they interact, what types of business and activities are they involved in, and how has that changed the country?
<

The new government is young and progressive.
palomera/ is a website that seeks out and tracks what the Spanish business community is doing and we can watch business trends.

Mini motorcycles are so popular that almost everyone has them whether there's a kid around the house or not. Some miniature bike users have created groups so that they can all gather around and speak about their toys. But before you go ahead and acquire one,, you should know that there are rules governing mini bike ownership and use in any location.

XBOX 360:
<

Noire (PS3), Tekken 6 (PS3), Huxley (360), GTA4 (360 exclusive episodic content), Age of Conan (360)That's quite a bit and I'm tired.
Killzone 2 (PS3)

PS3 VS XBOX 360 - Exclusive Games for 2008!
[标签:来源]

3. Funds

Mini motorcycles are so popular that almost everyone has them whether there's a kid around the house or not. Some miniature bike users have created groups so that they can all gather around and speak about their toys. But before you go ahead and acquire one,, you should know that there are rules governing mini bike ownership and use in any location.

BMX Videos - Watch Guys Crash Hard and Survive

Untimely Death Can Inspire New Life
